Mariachi Entertainment System is not the first band that covers video games music, nor they are the first to do covers of these other different genres using the local music, like cumbia.

However, they themselves are the first mariachi launching their album, and also mixing it up with traditional Mexican music.

Their self-titled album contains the following songs:

– Sewer Surfin ‘(of “TMNT IV: Turtles In Time”)
– Guardia Millennial Fair (from “Chrono Trigger”)
– Dark World (from “The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past”)
– Polka Medley: Gourmet Race (from “Kirby Super Star”) / Music A [from “Tetris”] / Ending [of “Super Mario World”]
– Gerudo Valley ( “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time”)
– Frog’s Theme (from “Chrono Trigger”)
– The Moon ( “Duck Tales”)
– Dragon Roost Island ( “The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker”)
– Metroid: Brinstar / Kraid’s Lair (from “Metroid”)
– Dr. Wily – Stage 1 (of “Mega Man 2”)
– Bloody Tears (of “Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest”)

It is impossible to choose the best song on the album, so here are my personal favorites.

Mariachi Entertainment System is based in San Antonio, Texas and you can purchase their music on iTunes and Google Play.
